At Southdown Community Infant School our aim is for all children:
To enjoy school and be happy
To feel proud of themselves and their school community
To be confident enough to experiment and try new experiences
To respect themselves and each other
To work to the best of their ability
We are very pleased to announce that the Governors of both the Infant and Junior Schools have voted in favour of our proposed federation. On 1 January 2014 the existing Governing Bodies will cease to exist and a new Governing Body will take responsibility for the Southdown Schools Federation and both schools. Preparations for a smooth transition are already underway. The proposal document is still available for reference and if you have any questions then please do ask at the school.
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils. The school is proud of our outdoor learning environment and the opportunities for children to learn both inside and outside the classroom. We have an ‘open door’ policy at the school and welcome parents in to discuss issues or concerns at any time. All staff at the school work together to ensure the children at Southdown have the best possible start to their education journey.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
Thank you for visiting!
